The Job Role
As a Technical Engineer, you’ll lead product development and certification projects that meet customer technical needs and enhance product quality. You’ll help drive innovation and continuous improvement across the group, while working in line with CTB’s START values: Safety, Teamwork, Accountability, Respect and Trust.
Key Responsibilities
The duties listed below are not in order of priority or importance and are not intended to restrict or prioritise the activities of the working day:
- Lead product development from concept to delivery, based on customer and market needs
- Creating 3D models and engineering drawings using AutoCAD, Inventor or similar tools
- Leading design, FEA and test programs, including fatigue analysis using ANSYS or equivalent
- Plan and execute test programs to validate product behaviour and quality
- Produce clear technical reports and present findings to customers and industry bodies
- Manage certification projects (e.g. CE, DIBt) for new products and services
- Support partners through tailored product and service development
- Project manage new product introduction (NPI) across group manufacturing sites
- Represent CTB at customer development sessions to identify added-value opportunities
- Act as subject matter expert in manufacturing processes, providing technical support
- Contribute to quality improvement and PPAP activities across the group
- Monitor technical requirements and performance data to support continuous improvement
- Support QA/QC teams where required and uphold CTB’s safety and quality standards
