The Job Role

In this role, you will be accountable for the effective application of the Cooper Turner Beck EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) Model and Group standards, ensuring procedures and documentation remain current and the business meets its statutory and moral EHS obligations. You will provide visible EHS leadership, oversee risk assessments, audits, investigations and training, and empower colleagues through coaching and education. You will also support EHS and ESG reporting and drive continuous improvement in line with our values of Safety, Team Work, Accountability, Respect and Trust (START).

Key Responsibilities

The duties listed below are not in any order of priority or importance and are not intended to restrict or limit the activities of the working day.

  • Drive proactive EHS management, including daily hazard containment, pre-task risk assessments and Job Safety Observations.
  • Own the delegated audit structure and Job Safety Observation schedule.
  • Investigate accidents, near misses, health concerns and security breaches, identifying root causes and appropriate corrective actions.
  • Plan and lead engagement initiatives, including EHS campaigns and awareness talks.
  • Own, audit and improve all EHS documentation and processes, reporting findings and corrective actions to management.
  • Deliver EHS training and maintain the standard diary for annual and longer-term EHS goals.
  • Collate and report site data to support EHS and ESG reporting.
  • Liaise with regulators and external providers, including the Local Authority and HSE, to support compliance.
  • Support the company’s wider ESG agenda through day-to-day decisions and actions.
