The job role

As an Electrician, you will play a key role in ensuring safe, reliable and efficient production across the site. Technically skilled and mechanically aware, you will maintain, service and improve electrical and electronic equipment, support automation, and contribute to safe, well-organised production in a demanding manufacturing environment. .

Key Responsibilities

The duties listed below are not listed in any order of priority or importance and are not intended to restrict or prioritise the activities of the working day: 

  • Maintain and service all electrical/electronic equipment within the site where approval has been obtained.
  • Carry out all portable appliance testing as and when required
  • Install and run services to new or re-located electrical equipment
  • Advise and work on modifications to and refurbishments of existing machines
  • Maintain a clean and tidy area
  • Advise and work on any special purpose machinery developed within the company
  • Service all production department when required, ensuring maximum efficiency
  • Advise on any preventative maintenance within the company
  • Ensure all working procedures and safety standards must be adhered to
  • Work as a team member within the department
  • Advise on any preventative maintenance within the company
  • Complete non-electrical work for which you have capability or are capable of under guidance
  • Advise on stocks and stock replenishment of electrical/electronic parts
  • Give instruction to assist non-electrical personnel to enable them to safely complete simple electrical work
  • Demonstrate the ability to identify hazards
  • Commit to Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
  • All the above tasks must be carried out under the Health and Safety guidelines
  • All COSHH regs must be adhered to when working with hazardous products
