The Job Role
As a Purchasing Assistant, you will support the Purchasing team with the day-to-day administration and coordination of purchasing activities. You will help ensure purchase orders, supplier information and shipping documentation are accurate and up to date, while supporting the timely procurement and delivery of materials and consumables. The role involves working closely with suppliers, internal teams and logistics providers across both UK and overseas orders and shipments. This role contributes to the operational effectiveness and strategic objectives of CTB Group, while acting in alignment with the company values of Safety, Team Work, Accountability, Respect, and Trust (START).
Key Responsibilities

- Raise purchase orders in accordance with the appropriate authority matrix.
- Assist the Purchasing team with the procurement of consumables, including stationery, workwear and packaging.
- Expedite existing UK and overseas purchase orders to support timely delivery, ensuring progress notes are kept up to date within the ERP system.
- Ensure all order confirmations are received, reviewed and stored appropriately.
- Review certificates for incoming materials and ensure the relevant results are accurately recorded within the ERP system.
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure shipping documentation is completed and expedited in a timely manner.
- Arrange and monitor all import shipments of materials.
- Communicate ETAs and relevant updates to internal teams as required.
- Work closely with logistics and transport providers for UK and overseas shipments, ensuring competitive pricing is obtained.
- Carry out other administrative duties relevant to the Purchasing Department.
- Ensure supplier and shipping records are accurate and kept up to date at all times.
- Work in accordance with company core values, helping to maintain a safe and sustainable working environment.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Minimum of one year's purchasing and procurement experience, preferably within the fastener industry.
- Working knowledge of import and export requirements.
