The Job Role

In this role, you will support the sales and commercial function by providing technical, analytical and ERP-based support to customers and internal teams. You will assist with quotations, pricing, reporting and customer enquiries, working closely with colleagues across Sales, Engineering, Production, Planning and Quality.

Designed for a recent graduate with strong computer literacy and an interest in engineering, manufacturing, commercial operations and digital technologies, the role will help you develop a broad understanding of customer requirements, manufacturing processes and sales operations. You will contribute to business growth and operational excellence in line with our values of Safety, Team Work, Accountability, Respect and Trust (START).

Key Responsibilities

The duties listed below are not in any order of priority or importance and are not intended to restrict or limit the activities of the working day.

  • Support the preparation of quotations, tenders and customer proposals, including cost analysis and pricing activities.
  • Maintain accurate customer, sales, pricing and product data within the ERP system.
  • Support customer enquiries, providing technical information and excellent customer service.
  • Work closely with Account Managers and Sales Engineers to identify business opportunities and support market and competitor research.
  • Generate and distribute sales, margin and customer performance reports using ERP systems, Excel and Power BI.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools to provide insight into sales trends, customer demand, profitability and operational performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve ERP processes, reporting capabilities and master data accuracy, supporting system enhancements and digital projects where required.
  • Liaise with Engineering, Production, Planning and Quality teams to understand product capabilities, manufacturing constraints and customer requirements.
  • Support technical reviews, new product introductions and change management activities.
  • Support forecasting and capacity planning and participate in continuous improvement initiatives using Lean principles.
  • Build professional relationships with customers and internal stakeholders, participating in meetings, customer visits and site tours where appropriate.
  • Undertake occasional international travel to customer sites and Group factories to develop product, process and market knowledge.
  • Support the company’s wider ESG agenda through day-to-day decisions and actions, contributing positively to the Group’s environmental, health and safety objectives.
