The Job Role

As a Saw Operator, you will support the efficient and accurate preparation of materials within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will cut materials to the required specifications, maintain traceability and accurate counts, and ensure work is completed in line with the production programme to support operational continuity and customer orders. The role contributes to the operational effectiveness and strategic objectives of CTB Group, while acting in alignment with the company values of Safety, Team Work, Accountability, Respect, and Trust (START).

Key Responsibilities

• The duties listed below are not in order of priority or importance and are not intended to restrict or prioritise the activities of the working day.
• Maintain productivity and traceability, ensuring all counts are accurate.Saw material of various grades and sizes into cut lengths for processing into customer orders.
• Work in line with the production programme issued by the Factory Manager.
• Keep saws, sawing areas, and studding areas clean, organised, and in a safe working condition.
• Report any faults with saws or other equipment to your immediate Supervisor and liaise regarding the purchase of spare parts.
• Complete any training programmes required to support the efficient performance of duties and ongoing personal development.
• Cut billets of bar for the machine shop as required.
• Take a responsible approach to health, safety, and environmental risks within your role, controlling risks where possible or reporting them to management as appropriate.
• Carry out any other duties as required, commensurate with the position.
